Who We Are
The Church of Christ at Kaiserslautern is a family of believers devoted to the love of Jesus Christ. As a family, we accept each other because God has accepted each of us as one of His own. We praise and glorify God because in His great mercy He has saved us through faith in what Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, has done, is doing and will do for us; that is, The Gospel (Jesus' death, burial and resurrection).
We encourage individuals to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus. Salvation is the free gift of God. The blood and death of Jesus is the only sufficient payment for our sins. No one is saved by his/her own merits or good deeds. Jesus saves.
It is necessary to respond to God's free offer of salvation (the gospel) through Jesus Christ. We often refer to this response as "obeying the gospel" or "reenacting the gospel" The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus). The normative response clearly set out in the Bible for us to follow is belief and faith in what God, through Jesus has done, is doing and will do for us; repentance; confession, and baptism by immersion into Jesus Christ. God then meets us, forgives our sins, and gives us the gift of the Holy Spirit that indwells and empowers each of us.
Because God's grace has been made available to us through His Son, Jesus Christ, we attempt to make Jesus our focus, and the center of all that we do and say; sharing Jesus with others through both our lives and our words, equally.
At Kaiserslautern, we are concerned about doctrinal purity. Since we believe that the words contained in the Hebrew and Greek text of the Bible are "God-breathed," the Bible is our final authority in life and doctrine. Over 90% of the sermons presented from our pulpit are expository in nature. We will never compromise doctrine, nor will we compromise our love for people. We strive to follow Jesus' perfect example of being full of grace and truth.
If you visit with us a Kaiserslautern you will find a warm and friendly welcome from our family. Loving people is important to us. Our assemblies are very worship and praise orientated. We do not linger on issues that divide the church, especially when those issues are not affecting us directly. We do address whatever situations that arise when they arise.
If the Kaiserslautern congregation can server you and your needs in any way, please feel free to let us know. Do not be afraid to invite or suggest to your friends that they visit us. We will be glad to contact anyone that is interested in finding a church home or anyone interested in a Bible Study. It is our urgent desire to tell others what God has done for us all through Jesus Christ. God has rescued us. He can rescue you, too. God is changing our lives. He can change yours, too.
